Underwater visibility forecast
Viziato forecasts underwater visibility, for coastal waters and the open ocean, updated every day. It shows the expected visibility, in feet or meters, at any point on the map for the next 9 days, so trips can be planned around the clearest water.
Today’s forecast map is free. Exact visibility, the full 9-day forecast and visibility alerts require Viziato Pro, which offers a one-week free trial on the yearly plan.
Every morning the forecast is recalculated for about 3.6 million points of ocean, each drawing on more than a thousand measurements of currents, waves, tides, wind, weather and sunlight: billions of values, turned into one map.
During development, the forecast was checked against real dives by the Viziato team and field testers.

The map below is a saved snapshot of Viziato's visibility map for South Florida and the Bahamas. It is not a live forecast. Clicking or tapping any point on the map shows the visibility there, in feet or meters. The buttons marked Day 1 to Day 9 switch between the forecast days. In the app, the forecast is updated daily and gives a prediction anywhere in the world between 60° north and 60° south latitude.

Visibility at any point
Every point on the map carries a forecast, rated from Very Poor to Outstanding. Viziato Pro gives the exact prediction in feet or meters, with a chart of the days ahead.
Popular Dive Sites
More than 850 of the world’s best-known boat dives are pinned on the map: Florida wrecks, Caribbean walls, Red Sea reefs, the Great Barrier Reef and cold-water sites.
Daily Top 10
Each day, the ten clearest of the included dive sites, ranked by forecast visibility.
Custom map colors Pro
The range of the map’s color scale can be set in Settings to suit local water. With the scale set to 0 to 20 feet, for example, the difference between 8 and 12 feet shows at a glance.
Saved spots
Spots are saved with a tap or typed in as coordinates.
GPX import and export Pro
Spots come over from a chartplotter as a GPX file and export back the same way.
Visibility alerts Pro
A notification arrives when the forecast at a saved spot reaches the visibility set for it.
Offline access Pro
Out on the boat with no signal, the app opens the last forecast downloaded to the phone.
How it works
How the forecast is made
Each day’s forecast comes from a proprietary, highly specialized visibility model, developed by VIZIATO LLC, that processes more than 3 billion data points every day.

The model was built on decades of ocean and atmospheric data.
It draws on the conditions that affect underwater visibility: ocean currents, water temperature and salinity, waves, tides, wind and weather, sunlight and atmospheric haze, plankton and other biological activity, the shape of the seafloor and material carried by rivers.

Each day the model forecasts coastal waters and the open ocean between 60° N and 60° S.
Each day’s map holds more than 18 million forecast points, about 165 million across the nine days.

Saved spots stay private.
The app downloads the whole forecast map and works out every reading on the phone itself. Saved spots, the points read on the map and the phone’s location are never sent to VIZIATO LLC or anyone else. Spots are backed up only to the user’s own cloud account, and they leave the phone only when the user exports or shares them.

Limitations. Forecasts are estimates and can differ from conditions on site. Viziato is not a navigation or safety tool.
Plans
Viziato and Viziato Pro
The forecast map, the conditions at any point, the dive sites and the daily Top 10 are free. Viziato Pro adds the exact numbers, the full nine days and the features below. The yearly plan starts with a one-week free trial for accounts that have not used one before. The trial becomes a paid yearly subscription unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before it ends.
